MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL
The Mayor and City Council all serve four-year terms. Each is elected at an at-large, non-partisan basis. The Council's regular meetings are at Council Chambers, 121 1st St SW, Clarion, IA 50525 on the first and third Tuesday of the month at 4:30pm.
Term expires January 1, 2022. Duane Asbe is the Planned Giving Officer of the Iowa Specialty Hospital Foundation - Clarion and the Endowment Development Director of the Wright County Charitable Foundation. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1972 and began employment with a local bank in Clarion after graduation and has been a part of Clarion ever since.

Term expires January 1, 2024. Born and raised in Clarion, Andy returned from Iowa State University in 2015 and manages his family's business, Sumners Insurance Agency. He leads the praise team at the Methodist church, attends Toastmasters, serves on several local boards, and enjoys relaxing in his free time.

Term expires January 1, 2022. Dave Maxheimer is the Human Resources Manager for Hagie Manufacturing Company, a manufacturer of innovative crop production solutions in Clarion. Born and raised in Clarion, he returned following graduation from Iowa State University and 10 years of progressive experience in the Des Moines area to build upon his career and raise a family.

Term expires January 1, 2022. Jim Williams is a Product Design Engineer for Hagie Manufacturing Company, a manufacturer of innovative crop production solutions in Clarion. Jim moved to Clarion in 2001 after graduating from Iowa State University and working for 5 years in Fremont, Nebraska and Sheffield, Iowa.
